As a fresh college graduate, I helped found Mana Organics Ltd., a sustainable tea company dedicated to promoting organic farming strategies and small farmers in the Assam region of Northeast India. While there, I was responsible for overseeing a team of 10 local workers in planting and maintaining several vegetable varieties (corn, tomatoes, bell peppers, etc.) in a 560 sq. m. greenhouse and in several small farmer plots throughout the Assam area. I also consulted for several farming cooperatives and tea estates on organic soil management practices, and worked with an international certification agency (SGS Pvt. Ltd.) to obtain organic certification for local farmers.
